Cybercrime Instructor

A public educational institution is looking for an instructor within the Cybercrime and Digital Investigation cluster. You will make an essential contribution to the education of colleagues in the field of cybercrime and digital investigation. Your expertise will help them develop in a constantly changing field.

What you do

  • Develop and update technically in-depth education for investigative practice, translating current cybercrime techniques and tools into concrete teaching materials.
  • Provide lessons, training, and workshops on topics such as digital fraud, network intrusions, ransomware, and digital traces, with attention to the underlying technology.
  • Convert your own technical expertise into practical assignments and exercise scenarios for students to gain hands-on experience.
  • Guide students through technical assignments, so they learn the tools and methodologies actually used in cybercrime investigations.
  • Contribute to the technical quality and topicality of the educational offerings, in line with the latest developments in the field.

Profile

You are a technical expert in cybercrime and know how to translate that knowledge into clear and challenging teaching material. You understand how attackers think and work, and you find it challenging to transfer that knowledge to professionals who need it in practice. You have a passion for education and the ability to make complex technical subjects understandable without losing depth. You are able to motivate, coach, and support students in their learning process.

Experience with blended learning trajectories is a plus. You take responsibility for the technical quality of your field and ensure that the teaching material aligns with what is actually happening in the cybercrime landscape. You are eager to learn, enjoy collaborating, and are open to new technologies and methodologies.

  • HBO (bachelor) working and thinking level.
  • Extensive technical knowledge, from networks to malware.
  • Experience in teaching, training, or developing educational programs, preferably in a technical or IT-related environment.
  • A Pedagogical Didactic Certificate (PDG) / Basic Qualification in Education and Examination (BKO/BKE) or the willingness to obtain it.
