Team Leader Wwft Supervision

You will lead a team of supervisors within a government organization focused on financial-economic integrity. The organization is preparing for new European legislation and an expansion of its supervisory tasks. You will contribute to a fair and safe economic playing field and help protect society against financial-economic crime, such as money laundering and terrorist financing. The team supervises non-financial gatekeepers, including vehicle dealers, real estate agents, appraisers, and domiciliation providers.

The team is growing from 17 to approximately 24 employees. The coming years will see significant changes due to new European regulations (EU AML package, effective July 2027), which will impact supervision, enforcement, and work processes.

What you will do.

• Provide integral leadership to your team and be responsible for the full HR cycle (performance, development, deployability, absence guidance).
• Translate supervisory objectives into concrete priorities, monitor capacity, and manage quality, progress, and results.
• Guide and develop employees, set clear expectations, and stimulate ownership, collaboration, and professional growth.
• Actively contribute to the recruitment and selection of new colleagues and ensure proper introduction and guidance.
• Collaborate with other team leaders and the management team on the professionalization of effective, risk-based, and data-driven supervision.
• Maintain contacts with internal and external chain partners, connect various interests, and represent the organization in a political-administrative environment.
• Provide structure, make choices, and involve employees in new developments, with attention to people, quality, and results.

What they ask

• University (WO) level of work and thinking, for example in the fields of law, economics, or business administration.
• Minimum of five years of experience as an integral team leader, including personnel responsibility, results responsibility, and execution of the HR cycle.
• Experience in leading professionals within a supervisory organization and familiarity with administrative law supervision.
• Knowledge of the Wwft or AML domain is a plus.
• Experience in managing and developing teams in a changing environment.
• Experience with cross-team collaboration and connecting various interests and shared priorities within a political-administrative environment.
