A government organization requires temporary specialized expertise in the field of structural safety for the assessment of complex construction and permit applications. A contractor will be engaged to independently perform structural assessments and provide advice on them. The contractor will independently provide specialized structural advice for complex construction plans and permit applications during the term of the agreement.
What you will do.
- Independently assess structural calculations, reports, and structural justifications
- Perform structural assessments of complex construction and permit applications
- Analyze, evaluate, and substantively review structural advice from external consulting and structural engineering firms
- Identify and substantiate structural risks and points of attention
- Draft written structural advice for permit procedures
- Explain the advice provided to applicants, structural engineers, or employees of the organization if the nature of the file requires it
- Advise on the application of relevant laws and regulations in the field of structural safety
The contractor performs the assignment independently and determines the method of execution. Coordination with employees of the organization only takes place as far as necessary.
Results.
- Deliver structural assessments of assigned files
- Provide written structural advice with clear and traceable substantiation
- Make structural risks transparent and advise on them
- Assess structural calculations and reports from third parties
- Provide a substantive explanation of issued advice upon request
What they ask
- HBO (higher professional education) working and thinking level, in Construction Engineering or similar
- Demonstrable specialized knowledge of structures and structural safety
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrable experience with structural review of construction plans and permit applications within a government organization
- Demonstrable extensive experience with assessing structural calculations, reports, and advice from external structural engineering firms
Preferences.
- Demonstrable experience and current knowledge of the Omgevingswet (Environmental Act)
- Demonstrable experience and current knowledge of the Besluit bouwwerken leefomgeving (Bbl) (Decree on Buildings and Living Environment)
- Demonstrable experience and current knowledge of the Wet kwaliteitsborging voor het bouwen (Wkb) (Quality Assurance Act for Construction)
Practical
- Proficiency in the Dutch language is required
