You will work in a treatment clinic with patients on their recovery and safe return to society. You maintain an overview in unpredictable situations, especially when tension rises or behavior escalates. You are a stable factor, take the lead, provide structure, and keep an eye on the person behind the behavior. You co-determine the pace and direction of the treatment process, make quick, sharp assessments, and intervene when necessary.
Together with your team, you create a strong and safe environment where patients can practice new behaviors and learn to manage responsibility. You work with courage, alertness, and professional control, at the intersection of care and safety. Your actions have a direct impact on the atmosphere, safety, and progress of the group. You will have the opportunity to develop mental strength, craftsmanship, and leadership.
What you do
- Collaborate closely with fellow sociotherapists, a psychologist, psychiatrist, and social worker.
- Form a close-knit team that strengthens each other and acts directly when the situation demands it.
- Know patients thoroughly and understand when someone needs a push, a boundary, or rest.
- Ensure team safety and patient progress, especially during tense moments.
What they ask
- Completed HBO (higher professional education) degree in social work.
- Preferably, experience in forensic psychiatry.
- Affinity for teamwork.
- Ability to assess risks, take measures if necessary, and reflect well on your own actions.
- Proficiency in the Dutch language, both written and spoken.
- Availability for irregular shifts (day and evening) and weekend shifts.
- Willingness to participate in self-rostering.
