Youth Consultant
As a Youth Consultant, you play a central role in accessing indicated youth care within a municipal organization. You assess which support is necessary under the Youth Act, manage the care process, and collaborate intensively with families, district teams, care providers, and other involved professionals. This is a secondment assignment with the possibility of a free takeover by the municipal organization after one year.
What you do
- Investigate and analyze requests for help from young people and families
- Assess which support is necessary under the Youth Act
- Develop support plans together with the family and involved professionals
- Manage the deployed care services
- Monitor and evaluate progress and results
- Guide the reduction of support when possible and responsible
- Collaborate with parents, young people, district teams, care providers, and other chain partners
- Recognize and interpret signs of unsafety, child abuse, and domestic violence
- Determine necessary interventions and follow-up steps in safety issues
- Contribute to the regional approach to domestic violence
- Conduct home visits and maintain contact with families and involved organizations
You work independently within your caseload, with professional guidance from behavioral scientists and senior staff within the Youth Expert Team.
What they ask
- A completed relevant HBO education, for example SPH, MWD, Social Work or similar
- A valid SKJ registration (strict requirement)
- Demonstrable work experience within the youth domain
- Demonstrable work experience within a municipal organization
- Knowledge of the Youth Act and relevant legal frameworks
- Knowledge of the available care offer and relevant methodologies
- Knowledge of pedagogy, developmental psychology
- Insight into psychiatric problems, addiction problems, and intellectual disabilities
- Knowledge of complex family systems
- Experience in recognizing signs of unsafety, child abuse, and domestic or sexual violence
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with various involved parties
- A decisive and results-oriented attitude
- The ability to maintain an overview in complex and dynamic situations
- A driving license and own transport for home visits
Preferences.
- Knowledge of the social map
- Experience with crisis situations and crisis interventions
