Manager Work Permits

Within a government organization, the Work Permits department is undergoing a significant organizational development. This temporary assignment is a replacement for maternity leave.

What you will do.

  • You are responsible for the results, development, and deployability of your team.
  • You create the conditions for optimal performance and collaboration within the team.
  • You manage quality, timeliness, customer focus, and professionalism.
  • You develop policy for the department and translate internal and external policy proposals into practical implementation.
  • You identify potential bottlenecks that could hinder the efficient processing of applications.
  • You maintain intensive contacts with internal and external parties, including chain partners and divisions within the organization.
  • You convert analyses into proposals that contribute to decision-making, both within the organization and with relevant ministries and chain partners.
  • You are able to convincingly convey decisions, taking into account political interests and legal frameworks.
  • You easily switch between different communication styles and find a good balance between steadfastness and flexibility.
  • You serve as an example in terms of results orientation, customer focus, quality orientation, and collaboration.
  • You are capable of implementing transitions and have an affinity with ICT and digitalization issues.
  • You are part of the management team of the Labor Legal Services department and share responsibility for the national implementation of services.
  • You lead a team of approximately 25 consultants.
  • You ensure adequate staffing, capacity deployment, and effective work distribution.
  • You guide employees in their development, vitality, and career.
  • You are responsible for the quality, timeliness, and legality of the work within your team.
  • You translate developments in laws and regulations into daily operations.
  • You stimulate continuous improvement of processes and services.
  • You work closely with fellow managers, team leaders, and chain partners, including an immigration service.
  • You contribute to the further development of the department and the new organizational structure.
  • You identify opportunities and bottlenecks and convert them into improvement initiatives.

  • Experience or affinity with labor market policy.
  • Experience or affinity with legal, political, and social developments in the field of alien law, labor law (main lines), and administrative law.
  • Experience with organizational development and change processes.
  • Strong communication and coaching skills.
