The Post-Harvest Technology team works on innovative technologies to improve the shelf life of vegetables, fruit, and flowers. Expertise ranges from plant physiology to cold chains, with a focus on both national and international contexts.
What you do
As a project leader/researcher, you will contribute to team results by:
- Leading research projects
- Conducting high-quality applied research
- Contributing to project acquisition and drafting project proposals, project plans
- Maintaining contact with stakeholders
- Making a structural contribution to innovation and the further development of the field
What they ask
- Recently completed PhD in a relevant field related to post-harvest technology
- In-depth knowledge in at least two of the following areas:
- Post-harvest physiology and product quality
- Post-harvest pathology
- Biomarkers, volatiles
- Cold chains and refrigeration technology
- Data analysis and modelling (R, Python, CFD)
- Demonstrable experience in project leadership or management
- Preferably, experience in the business sector and the ability to understand client issues and translate them into research questions and project opportunities
- Strong commercial skills and an entrepreneurial spirit
- Proactive, results- and quality-driven, and a team player
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English (C1 level)
- Willingness to learn Dutch if not yet proficient
