A government organization is actively developing with the aim of creating an attractive and safe city to live in. As an important link in the process from initiative to final realization, you advise initiators and applicants on the permit process. You assess whether applicable laws and regulations are met during implementation.
The Building and Housing Supervision department is responsible for granting and supervising various permits, primarily based on the Environmental Act (Omgevingswet) for construction, monuments, and asbestos. The department works fully digitally and emphasizes customer focus and proactive advice.
What you do
- Perform intake and processing of (complex) Environmental Act and potentially related (APV) permit applications
- Consult with internal and external partners on these matters
- Ensure progress and caseload monitoring
- Ensure proper handover to internal and external advisors
- Prepare the urban planning report for the building committee
- Advise residents, businesses, and management as needed
- Participate, based on your knowledge and experience, in projects that contribute to improving the permit process
Profile
- Accustomed to independently handling the most complex Environmental Permit applications
- Finds solutions for bottlenecks in a team (also outside the department) if necessary
- Enthusiastic professional with up-to-date knowledge
- Demonstrates clear added value for the team and actively participates in or leads discussions regarding the presented cases
- Customer-focused and able to perform a good problem analysis
- Proactively contribute to the execution of construction work and translate issues into actions
- Take charge by connecting process and content and escalate in a timely manner if necessary
- Good communication skills, both oral and written
- Awareness of the political landscape
What they ask
- Minimum HBO bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering/Construction
- Minimum 5 years of work experience in processing building permit applications, gained in the last 8 years
- Work experience with the Environmental Act (Omgevingswet) and Bbl
- In possession of ABW 1 and ABW 2 certificates
Preferences.
- Work experience with assessing equivalence requests
- Work experience with advising on Bbl interpretation requests
- Work experience with the PowerBrowser case management system
