Social Worker for Sex Workers and Victims of Human Trafficking

As a social worker, you help (former) sex workers and victims of human trafficking gain more control over their lives. You work together to achieve greater safety and independence. Your professional guidance aligns with the needs of the target group.

What you will do.

• Guide individuals from the first contact, creating a plan and setting goals tailored to their situation.
• Collaborate with a career coach to support steps towards work, education, or future plans.
• Identify situations involving abuse, coercion, exploitation, or unsafety.
• Work together with other organizations, such as women's shelters, night shelters, addiction care, and mental health institutions.
• Coordinate guidance effectively with fellow social workers.
• Keep files up-to-date, meticulously record conversations, and ensure agreements are met.
• Contribute to reducing stigmas around sex work and creating a safe environment.
• As a secondary task, provide training and information to the target group, colleagues, and partners.

What they ask

• A higher professional education (HBO) diploma in Social Work or a comparable healthcare education (e.g., Psychology, SPH, SJD) or a university bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field.
• Experience with or affinity for (former) sex workers, victims of human trafficking, or other socially vulnerable target groups.
• A driver's license and willingness to work evenings and Fridays.
• Good command of Dutch and preferably English.
• Knowledge of Spanish, Arabic, Romanian, or another common language within the target group is a significant plus.
• Experience with using social media in your work, for example, for online fieldwork, reaching the target group, or sharing information via Instagram, Facebook, or other platforms.
