Gynecologist

A maternity unit handles approximately 750 deliveries annually.

• Active role within the obstetric operations.
• Actively contribute to the further development of obstetric operations, care pathways, quality, and patient experience.
• In addition to an obstetric focus, active as an all-round gynecologist and participation in the broad clinical and polyclinical activities of the department.

What you will do.

• Guidance and follow-up during pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum.
• Follow-up of low- and high-risk pregnancies within your capabilities.
• Prenatal diagnostics and ultrasound according to your expertise.
• Guidance of vaginal deliveries and C-sections.
• Urgent obstetric interventions.
• Multidisciplinary and perinatal consultation.
• Collaboration with midwives, pediatricians, anesthetists, and other involved disciplines.
• Perform general and specialized gynecological and obstetric consultations.
• Participate in the gynecology-obstetrics on-call schedule.
• Co-responsible for the continuity, quality, and safety of care.
• Work closely with fellow doctors, midwives, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Contribute to discussions on care processes and the further development of the department.
• Contribute to an open, collegial, and future-oriented operation.

What they ask

• Recognized as a specialist physician in gynecology-obstetrics or soon to obtain this recognition.
• Authorized to practice medicine in Belgium.
• Strong interest in prenatal ultrasound, pregnancy, and deliveries.
• Enjoys active involvement in maternity and birth care.
• Patient-oriented, collegial, and strong in communication.
• Takes initiative and responsibility.
• Enjoys multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Fluent in Dutch.
• Both experienced gynecologists and candidates nearing completion of their training are welcome.
• Required studies: Master of Medicine.
