Environmental Permit Project Leader

A government organization aims for a good quality of life and monitors environmental quality in close cooperation with other government institutions. The organization works on behalf of local and regional authorities for a livable and safe region. The Supervision and Enforcement department conducts risk-oriented inspections at companies in the working area. The team focuses on preventive, repressive, and sanction controls on the theme of sustainability.

The theme of energy/sustainability is current and contributes to climate goals.

What you do

  • Handle notifications of information duty, investigation duty, savings obligation, label obligation, and work-related personal mobility, including company visits and potential action plans.
  • Conduct preventive controls on compliance with relevant environmental legislation (energy theme), including preparation, execution, and reporting.
  • Determine the scope of a company or building during inventory controls to establish the applicable legal framework.
  • Conduct follow-up controls in response to previously identified violations or suspicions, including preparation, execution, reporting, and formal notices.
  • Assess energy action plans to determine if they are soundly structured for a customized approach, including reporting.

Profile

You will work as an experienced supervisor/inspector with the aim of promoting compliance with relevant environmental legislation on the theme of energy. You will maintain contacts with companies/property owners, internal colleagues, and government agencies. You will primarily work independently, but preventive and repressive controls can also be carried out in a team upon request. Collaboration with advisors and/or permit providers is possible.

What they ask

  • Minimum HBO (higher professional education) work and thinking level.
  • Knowledge of the Environmental Act (Omgevingswet), Bal, Bbl, and permit obligation.
  • Experience in conducting energy controls.
  • Driving license B or another method allowing independent controls throughout the area.

Preferences.

  • At least 100 energy controls performed in the last 3 years.
  • Experience in assessing notifications of information duty.
