Advisor

DrentheHybrid36 hours/week<3months

The development of AI is rapid, but the question of how an organization truly wants to deploy AI is often more complex. As an AI Advisor, you help a government organization and its clients determine this direction. You connect technological possibilities with organizational goals, public values, and the practice of government. You look not only at today's solution but also at what is needed tomorrow. You provide direction on how AI is applied responsibly and sustainably within the government organization.

What you will do. You will work within the Artificial Intelligence & Innovation (AI&I) team. This team develops a generic, sovereign AI platform with reusable AI building blocks, such as RAG and agentic AI. You take the lead on complex and not yet fully elaborated AI issues. You help clients and development teams move from a broad ambition to a clear problem statement, various solution directions, and a well-founded recommendation.

  • You independently carry out advisory projects and bring together interests, scenarios, opportunities, and risks to define a clear course.
  • You connect clients, development teams, engineers, architects, and other specialists, ensuring that different perspectives converge.
  • You assess which issues can be solved generically and translate insights from practice into the further development and adoption of the AI platform.
  • You guide workshops, explorations, and Proofs of Concept, ensuring they lead to concrete insights or follow-up steps.
  • You interpret developments within AI and Generative AI and translate them into opportunities, risks, and courses of action for the organization and its clients.
  • You actively share your knowledge and experience and help less experienced advisors to develop further.

You have an eye for the broader AI landscape and can connect technological developments to the challenges of the organization and its clients. You clarify where AI can truly add value, but you are also clear when another solution is more appropriate. As an AI advisor, you also maintain an overview of the long term. You recognize patterns in individual client questions and see where opportunities lie to apply knowledge, facilities, and solutions more broadly within the organization.

In this way, you contribute not only to individual advisory projects but also to the further development of AI within the organization. For strategic or organization-wide issues, you collaborate with senior strategic advisors and other experts within the organization. You possess sufficient substantive knowledge to engage in dialogue with technical specialists and sufficient advisory experience to bring different interests to a common result.

What they ask You are an experienced advisor who knows how to connect substantive knowledge of AI with organizational issues. You can independently provide direction on complex issues, easily switch between strategic and substantive levels, and bring others along with your advice.

  • HBO/WO (higher professional education/university) work and thinking level, for example in (business) informatics, artificial intelligence, public administration, or a similar field.
  • Extensive relevant experience in advice, consultancy, or a similar role within an IT environment, preferably in the field of AI, data, or digitalization.
  • Good knowledge of AI and Generative AI and understanding of how language models, prompting, RAG, and agentic AI, among others, can be applied.
  • Ability to independently analyze, structure, and translate complex and not yet fully defined issues into various solution directions.
  • Experience in advising clients and guiding advisory, change, or innovation projects.
  • Ability to connect technical possibilities with organizational goals, processes, and needs, and to bring together different interests and disciplines.
  • You can convincingly present complex topics to both technical and non-technical interlocutors.
  • You actively follow developments within AI and can translate them into concrete consequences and courses of action.
  • You pay attention to public values, responsible AI, privacy, security, and the political-administrative context in which the organization operates.
  • You find it natural to share your knowledge and help less experienced colleagues.
