You contribute to improved information provision within a government organization through strong, accessible online content. You ensure that information for professionals is clear, current, and accessible, and you contribute to the further development of digital channels.
What you will do. Within an internal department, work is being done on the further development and professionalization of digital information provision for information professionals and other target groups within the organization. Various digital channels are used for unlocking and sharing current information, knowledge, and services. You are responsible for the editorial quality, topicality, accessibility, and publication of content on these digital channels.
The activities include both processing and improving existing content, as well as developing and publishing new content. You collaborate with other communication professionals and content experts. The activities are substantively coordinated with the responsible online communication advisor/product owner. You are responsible for creating, editing, structuring, and publishing content for the digital channels.
The goal is to offer information to the various target groups correctly, currently, accessibly, and understandably. You translate content developments and information needs into suitable online content.
Key activities:
- Collecting, assessing, and structuring information for digital publication
- Writing and editing web texts and other digital content
- Publishing and updating content via the content management systems used
- Monitoring editorial quality, consistency, house style
- Advising on the structure and presentation of content and the functional design of existing and new web pages
- Coordinating with content experts about information to be supplied, updated
- Monitoring the editorial process and signaling necessary updates
- Contributing to the further development and improvement of digital channels and the content offered on them
Profile
- HBO (higher professional education) working and thinking level, preferably in the field of communication, journalism, or a comparable direction
- Several years of demonstrable experience as a web editor or online editor
- Excellent command of the Dutch language and strong editorial skills
- Experience with writing, editing, structuring, and publishing content for websites and other digital channels
- Knowledge of and experience with content management systems and digital publication processes
- Knowledge of web guidelines and digital accessibility and able to apply them when creating and publishing content
- Insight into the coherence between digital channels, information needs of target groups, and organizational objectives
- Affinity with ICT and the ability to quickly master new digital applications and systems
- Ability to work independently and meticulously, plan and organize activities, and effectively collaborate with content experts and communication professionals
- Quality-conscious, flexible, and analytical, with sufficient persuasive power to involve content experts in what is needed for good online communication
