High Care Neonatology Nurse

As a high care neonatology nurse, you provide highly complex specialized care to the smallest newborns from 30 weeks of gestation and their families. You will work within a Mother and Child Centre, where Family Integrated Care is central. This center offers specialized care to women, (expectant) mothers, (premature) babies, and children, actively involving the entire family in the child's care and treatment.

The neonatology department has 17 modern family suites for newborns from 30 weeks of gestation and three post-IC/high care beds for children requiring intensive care.

What you will do.

  • Provide specialized nursing care to newborns and their parents.
  • Act quickly and adequately in acute situations where vital functions may be threatened.
  • Observe, signal, and assess changes in the neonate's condition.
  • Prioritize and coordinate patient care.
  • Actively contribute to diagnostic and treatment plans within the multidisciplinary team.
  • Guide colleagues in training to become high care neonatology nurses.
  • Contribute to quality improvement and further development of care.
  • You will work closely with mother-and-newborn nurses, general nurses, maternity care assistants, doctors, and student nurses.
