A warm and small-scale elderly care organization in a specific region is looking for a Specialist in Geriatric Medicine. Both self-employment (ZZP) and a permanent position as an employee are negotiable. The role offers the freedom to organize work according to one's own insights within a professional medical department with short lines of communication.
What you will do. As a Specialist in Geriatric Medicine, you are medically responsible for clients with diverse and sometimes complex care needs. You will work with clients in somatic care, psychogeriatrics, and first-line residential care (ELV). There are also specialized departments focusing on gerontopsychiatry and Parkinson's disease, among others. The focus is on what someone medically needs and what contributes to their quality of life.
Responsibilities.
- Medical diagnostics, treatment
- Client visits and assessments
- Coordination with nurses, caregivers, and other therapists
- Medication policy and medical decision-making
- Multidisciplinary consultations and case discussions
- Contributing to the quality and development of the medical department
- Contributing to policy and further development of elderly care, if desired
- Opportunity to develop a specific area of interest or expertise
Profile
- Registered Specialist in Geriatric Medicine
- Enjoys working independently, but within a team
- Engaged and strong communicator
- Broad perspective on the client
- Experience or affinity with gerontopsychiatry is welcome, but not a strict requirement
- Possesses a driving license and own transportation
Collaboration. You will join a dedicated medical department including Specialists in Geriatric Medicine, Nurse Specialists, Physician Assistants, and doctors in training. The organization is small-scale and characterized by short communication lines. Close collaboration is maintained with general practitioners and other elderly care organizations.
