Director Administrator

Two social organizations have been committed since 1983 to promoting equal treatment and combating discrimination. They support and empower citizens, governments, and organizations in combating discrimination and shaping an inclusive society. One organization acts as an anti-discrimination facility for 55 municipalities and Brabant. The other is a national knowledge center in the field of discrimination and is active nationally and at a European level.

The organizations employ approximately 55 staff members and adhere to the core values of justice, proximity, and progressiveness. The organizations are in an important phase, including preparation for the transition to a newly formed national organization.

What you do

  • Together with the current director-administrator, you form a collegial board of directors and jointly bear responsibility for the direction and continuity of the organizations.
  • The primary focus is on the internal organization, the management team, operational management, and preparation for the transition.
  • You lead the management team, with a portfolio distribution that will be applicable.
  • You set clear frameworks and provide direction at the governance level for the further professionalization of the organization and the connection between strategy and implementation.
  • You prepare the organization for its future national structure.
  • You set sharp priorities and make clear choices about what is truly necessary for the continuity and future of the organizations within the national organization.
  • During a sabbatical period of the current director-administrator, you will independently bear full governance responsibility for the organization.

  • Extensive governance experience within a complex social organization and a connection to the social mission.
  • Experience in strengthening and developing organizations and realizing change, including bringing calm and direction, setting sharp priorities, and making choices.
  • Solid knowledge and experience in operational management, including finance and HR.
  • An inclusive leader who provides direction and clear frameworks, further develops the management team, stimulates responsibility and ownership, and pays attention to the qualities and development of people.
  • Governance authority and the ability to maintain calm and overview, and to stay on course even in the face of resistance, uncertainty, and conflicting interests.
  • Strong communication skills to connect diverse perspectives and interests and communicate clearly and convincingly with employees, management, co-administrator, supervisory board, and external stakeholders.
  • Environmental sensitivity and the ability to constructively deal with complex relationships within a social and political-administrative context, and to credibly represent the organizations to relevant stakeholders and networks.
  • A unique vision, experience, and leadership style that provides a complementary contribution to the board of directors, with both collegial collaboration and independent governance responsibility.
