Youth Consultant
Within the youth domain, you help children, young people, and families who need support with parenting questions, behavioral problems, school absenteeism, or overburdening. You bring calm, clarity, and trust to complex situations. As a professional, you provide an overview, listen, investigate, liaise with stakeholders, and organize appropriate support within the frameworks of the Youth Act. You will work on assignments for various municipal and public organizations.
What you do
You work directly with young people, parents, and involved network partners. The focus may be on access, district team, case management, indicating specialized youth care, safety issues, or broad youth support.
- Conducting conversations with young people, parents
- Analyzing requests for help, family situations, and underlying concerns
- Drawing up support plans and clear agreements
- Advising on and implementing appropriate youth care
- Coordinating and monitoring care trajectories
- Taking the lead when multiple parties are involved
- Collaborating with schools, general practitioners, district teams, care providers, and safety chains
- Signaling risks, concerns, and potential safety issues
- Dealing with emotions, resistance, and conflicting interests
- Reporting and substantiating decisions within the Youth Act
- Contributing to good cooperation and improved service delivery within the youth domain
Profile
You are empathetic, firm, and connecting. You can involve parents and young people, but also set clear boundaries when necessary. You remain calm in complex situations and collaborate with various professionals, even when interests or insights diverge.
- Experience as a youth consultant, youth counselor, youth and family professional, family coach, youth case manager, youth district team member, or similar role
- Experience within a municipal organization, district team, access team, youth care organization, or social domain
- Knowledge of the Youth Act and experience with requests for help from young people and families
- Experience with support plans, case management, reporting, or implementing youth care
- The ability to carefully investigate and clearly substantiate
- Firmness in conversations with parents, young people, and network partners
- Collaboration-oriented towards schools, care providers, district teams, and safety chains
- Eye for safety, resilience, development
- A background in Social Work, Pedagogy, SPH, or similar is a plus
- SKJ registration is a plus or may be required, depending on the assignment
