Subsidy Advisor

A government organization is looking for an experienced subsidy advisor to manage the workload and prevent backlogs. The Subsidies cluster ensures that provincial funds are used lawfully and effectively for projects that keep the region livable. Additional capacity is needed in the coming months, spread across various policy areas.

What you will do.

• Independently execute the entire subsidy process.
• Assess applications for content, finances, and legal viability.
• Draft grant, amendment, and determination decisions.
• Manage dossiers up to the final determination.
• Work on both subsidy schemes and incidental applications in policy areas currently under the most pressure.
• Quickly familiarize yourself with new regulations and advise independently on them.
• Identify risks and bottlenecks and propose solutions.
• Be the point of contact for applicants and subsidy recipients.
• Be the sparring partner for policy officers, project leaders, and colleagues in the cluster.
• Liaise with subsidy lawyers for complex legal issues.
• Reduce backlogs and ensure consistency in the application of regulations, laws, and work processes.

What they ask

• HBO (higher professional education) working and thinking level.
• Demonstrable experience with independently executing the entire subsidy process, from application and assessment to granting and determination.
• Work experience within a government organization (province, municipality, or implementing organization).
• Demonstrable experience with assessing budgets, financial justifications, and accountability.
• Experience with case and subsidy processing systems.

Preferences.

• Experience within a government organization and in a political-administrative environment.
