Geriatric medicine is a broad field, requiring a diverse perspective on clients with somatic, psychogeriatric, and complex cases.
What you will do. As a Specialist in Geriatric Medicine, you are medically responsible for clients with diverse and sometimes complex care needs. You will work with clients in somatic care, psychogeriatrics, and first-line residential care (ELV). There are also specialized departments focusing on gerontopsychiatry and Parkinson's disease, among others. Your focus is on medical needs and, above all, contributing to the quality of life. Your activities include:
- medical diagnostics, treatment
- visits and assessment of clients
- coordination with nurses, caregivers, and other therapists
- medication policy and medical decision-making
- multidisciplinary consultations and case discussions
- contributing to the quality and development of the medical professional group
- contributing ideas on policy and the further development of elderly care (if desired)
There is room to further develop a specific area of interest or expertise.
Profile
You will join a dedicated medical professional group including Specialists in Geriatric Medicine, Nurse Specialists, Physician Assistants, and doctors in training. The organization is small-scale with short lines of communication and close collaboration with general practitioners and other elderly care organizations.
