Transition Coach

You help young people find their place in education or work and make a visible difference every day for their future. Young people sometimes face challenges that make it difficult to take the right step towards education, work, or development. As a coach, you guide young adults between 18 and 27 years old towards a sustainable future. You are a coach, director, and connector all at once.

You bring young people, schools, employers, and partners together and ensure that opportunities are utilized and obstacles are removed. With your efforts, you help reduce early school leaving and increase opportunities for young people.

What You Will Do.

  • You guide young people in finding a suitable path to education, work, or development.
  • You create a personal future plan with young people and guide them in its implementation.
  • You motivate young people to take control of their future and development.
  • You manage complex cases and monitor the progress of agreements made.
  • You coordinate with schools, employers, municipalities, and other involved partners.
  • You organize and lead case consultations with involved organizations.
  • You investigate the situation of young people in various areas of life and implement appropriate interventions.
  • You actively contribute to preventing and reducing early school leaving.
  • You advise schools and chain partners on issues related to education, transition, and labor market participation.
  • You identify bottlenecks in policy or implementation and translate these into opportunities for improvement.
  • You make an active contribution to projects and developments within a regional transition point.

Profile

You are someone who easily connects with young people and knows how to motivate them to take steps. You are committed, results-oriented, and have the courage to think outside existing frameworks when a situation demands it. You maintain an overview, work independently, and know how to connect different interests. You work closely with fellow coaches, truancy officers, administrative staff, and team leaders.

In addition, you maintain intensive contacts with schools, regional municipalities, employers, social organizations, and aid agencies. Within the team, trust, collaboration, and results are central. There is ample room to share knowledge, contribute ideas, and collectively seek solutions that truly work for young people. Your experience, initiative and commitment directly contribute to further strengthening services for young people.

What they ask

  • Minimum of a completed HBO (higher professional education) degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years of demonstrable work experience in the past 5 years as a transition coach, youth trajectory supervisor, youth participation coach, youth coach, RMC consultant, or a similar function.
  • Minimum of 1 year of demonstrable experience in collaboration with educational institutions and/or chain partners within the social domain.
  • The CV must contain at least one relevant reference from the past 5 years, demonstrating that the candidate has experience with activities comparable in nature and scope to the assignment.

Preferences.

  • Demonstrable experience within MBO (vocational education), early school leaving (VSV), RMC, or a transition point.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing complex cases where different domains are connected (education, work, care, and municipal facilities).
