As a Healthcare Psychologist, you help children and young people regain control over their psychological complaints. You combine diagnostics and treatment, take substantive responsibility, and have ample room for independent decision-making. You offer appropriate diagnostics and treatment for mild to moderate psychological problems, sometimes at the intersection of basic and specialized mental healthcare, which makes treatment pathways more challenging.
You focus on the complaints as well as the strengths and possibilities of the child and their environment. You guide the treatment process and contribute to the further development of the department.
What you will do.
- Conduct intakes and perform diagnostic assessments where necessary.
- Implement appropriate psychological treatments, tailored to the needs of the child, adolescent, and family.
- Manage your own caseload and that of colleagues, and monitor the progress and quality of care provided.
- Participate in multidisciplinary consultations and coordinate care with colleagues and other involved disciplines.
- Contribute to substantive policy and stay informed of relevant developments in diagnostics and psychological interventions.
- Act as a work supervisor and contribute to the development of psychologists and educationalists within the team.
- Collaborate with the team manager to shape the operational management and development of the department.
- Utilize various psychological interventions such as cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, psychoeducation, trauma treatment, and parental guidance.
Profile
- Completed university degree in Psychology and registered as a Healthcare Psychologist (GZ-psycholoog).
- Affinity with working with children, adolescents, and their parents/caregivers.
- Experience within mental healthcare.
- Experience with psychological diagnostics and treatment, and capable of independently applying appropriate interventions.
- Strong in content, takes responsibility, and can make independent decisions.
- Actively collaborative, communicatively skilled, and able to bring together different perspectives.
- Curious about new developments in the field and keen to contribute to policy and department development.
- Decisive, flexible, and a team player with a sense of humor and perspective.
