Resilience Trainer

An organization supporting individuals with intellectual and/or psychological disabilities is looking for a mental and physical resilience trainer.

  • The position falls under the HR department of the service center.
  • As a trainer, you will provide training, guide participants and learning processes, and apply appropriate didactic methods.
  • You will evaluate training sessions, identify areas for improvement, and coordinate with colleagues regarding planning, preconditions, content, and structure of the training.
  • An active and critical perspective is important for the continuous development of the training programs.
  • As a senior trainer, you will also be responsible for the coordination and substantive support of trainers, and you will focus on the quality, innovation, and professionalization of the offerings.

What you will do.

  • Guide learning processes and groups.
  • Create a safe, active, and practice-oriented learning environment.
  • Motivate participants to practice, ask questions, and reflect on their own actions.
  • Provide training based on established programs, learning objectives, and teaching materials, adapting to the target group, level, and practical situation of participants.
  • Consult with colleagues about suggestions for improving training content or structure.
  • Provide explanations, demonstrate skills, guide exercises, and stimulate reflection.
  • Monitor the progress and feasibility of the program, with an eye for both the group process and the development of individual participants.
  • Timely identify and discuss bottlenecks in the learning process within the applicable agreements.
  • Provide targeted feedback on attitude, knowledge, and skills within the context of the training.
  • Work independently within global guidelines and planning.
  • Creatively and enthusiastically shape the training, without compromising on content.
  • Arouse and maintain the interest of participants.
  • Deal with resistance in the group and ensure a safe atmosphere.
  • Improvise when the situation demands it.
  • In the role of senior trainer: coordinate the deployment, substantive alignment, and joint working method of mental and physical resilience trainers.
  • Guide and support trainers with questions about content, working methods, and practical situations.
  • Implement improvements in programs and working methods.
  • Evaluate training sessions for effectiveness and quality.
  • Translate developments within care, education, and learning into innovative and applicable training forms.

What they ask For trainer:

  • Possess a relevant diploma at a minimum of MBO level 4.

For senior trainer:

  • Possess a relevant diploma at a minimum of HBO level, supplemented with experience in training or teaching.
  • Have experience with coordinating activities and guiding colleagues.
  • Have knowledge of didactics.
  • Have experience with designing and (re)designing training programs.

For both positions, it applies that:

  • You have experience with conducting training and applying didactic methods.
  • You have experience with providing intensive guidance to clients.
  • A trainer's qualification is a plus.
  • Experience with, or knowledge of, the Mental and Physical Resilience methodology is a plus.
  • You are willing to be deployed at a location during holiday periods – if there are no training sessions – or to take leave hours.
