What you do
- Be part of the multidisciplinary team of a psychotherapeutic day center.
- Guide adults with psychological and personality-related difficulties within an intensive psychotherapeutic day program.
- Create a safe environment where patients can explore and express their experiences, emotions, and inner perceptions through images and materials.
- Tailor guidance to their pace, possibilities, and recovery goals.
- Lead therapeutic sessions, individually and in groups.
- Utilize materials and working methods as a means for exploration, expression, insight, and change.
- Help patients recognize, shape, and give meaning to emotions and experiences.
- Start from the personal strengths, vulnerabilities, and treatment goals of each patient.
- Observe the creative process and bring relevant insights into the treatment.
- Offer space for spontaneity and expression, within a clear and safe therapeutic framework.
- Regularly coordinate with colleagues and contribute to a cohesive treatment.
Profile
- Relevant education and/or professional background in visual/creative therapy.
- Strong recovery-oriented vision and ability to translate this into daily practice.
- See creativity as a therapeutic process and a means for exploration, expression, and change.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while enjoying being part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to respectfully and curiously connect with different lifeworlds and ways of experiencing.
- Knowledge of psychotherapy and/or psychotherapeutic frameworks is a plus.
- Experience with or knowledge of personality disorders is an added value.
- Affinity with complex psychological issues and with clients for whom relationships, emotions, identity, and emotion regulation play an important role is desired.
- Look beyond the problem and have an eye for the person behind the diagnosis, starting from possibilities and strengths.
- Believe that recovery is a personal and meaningful process for everyone.
- Be able to provide space for both spontaneity and expression within creative work, as well as sufficient therapeutic structure and safety.
