For an industrial project portfolio within the plastics-to-chemicals sector, an organization is looking for an experienced Planning & Cost Control Lead. You will be the linchpin in the planning and cost control of a growing portfolio, with a view to larger upcoming projects.
What you will do.
- Build and maintain integrated schedules (from high-level to detailed) across engineering, procurement, construction, and start-up.
- Monitor the critical path, identify risks of delay, resource conflicts, and interface issues early.
- Translate findings into clear reports for project management.
- Set up a practical cost control structure.
- Follow up on commitments, actuals, and forecasts.
- Analyze deviations from the baseline.
- Connect planning, costs, risks, and changes into one coherent picture.
- Work at both detailed and portfolio levels.
- Facilitate reviews.
- Coach project contributors and contractors in providing reliable data.
Profile
- Extensive experience as a Senior Planner, Project Controls Engineer, or similar within industrial, process, or CAPEX projects.
- Strong, hands-on experience with setting up and maintaining integrated schedules.
- Knowledge of critical path analysis, progress measurement, and forecasting.
- Proficient with Microsoft Project and Excel.
- Affinity with cost control is a strong plus (commitments, actuals, cash flow, variance analysis).
- Experience with setting up or improving project controls processes is a plus.
- Analytical and structured, but also pragmatic and solution-oriented.
- Dares to critically question input and clearly substantiate conclusions.
- Fluent Dutch; English is a strong asset.
