What you will do. As a construction inspector, you will be visible daily in the city and supervise various construction projects.
- Monitor construction and renovation activities based on the Environmental Act (Omgevingswet), permits, building regulations, and the municipal supervision protocol.
- Assess the most important parts of a project, meticulously record findings, and discuss them directly with contractors, executors, and other stakeholders.
- Take enforcement action when building regulations are not complied with.
- Advise the board, management, and colleagues on construction-related issues.
- Support legal procedures, such as objection and appeal cases.
- Participate in projects and working groups concerning new legislation, policy, and developments within the physical domain.
- Participate in an on-call schedule for calamities and emergency situations.
You will work closely with colleagues within construction supervision, enforcement, permit issuance, and legal affairs.
Profile
The organization is looking for a construction professional who works independently, is resilient, and easily switches between supervision, advice, and enforcement. You possess natural authority, communicate clearly, and know how to professionally convince others. You are analytical, meticulous, and decisive in your approach.
- MBO+ or HBO working and thinking level, preferably in a construction-related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience within construction, construction inspection, construction supervision, or a comparable field.
- Knowledge of building regulations and interest in developments surrounding the Environmental Act (Omgevingswet).
- Willingness to follow relevant training and courses.
- Insight into the role of the government and public law processes.
- Understanding of administrative and governmental relationships.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Practical
- One-year contract with the intention of converting to a permanent position.
- Salary indication: € 3,568 to € 5,096 gross per month (scale 9), with the possibility of being placed in scale 10 (€ 3,824 to € 5,624) depending on knowledge and experience.
- Individual Choice Budget of 17.05%.
- 144 vacation hours, plus 57.6 additional statutory vacation hours.
