Functional Administrator

You will work in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same. In addition to routine tasks, questions and tasks may arise from various directions almost daily. You will have very intensive contact with the application users as well as with other functional administrators both within and outside the organization. This requires independence, flexibility, and the ability to prioritize. You will be given ample space to take ownership and shape your activities.

What you do

You will work in a complex and dynamic government organization where digital services and business processes are continuously evolving. Together with your team, you are responsible for the optimal functioning of various information systems within the Public Services, Public Space Management, and Permitting, Supervision, and Enforcement directorates. This includes various applications. Additionally, the department manages an application landscape of over 120 applications.

As a functional administrator, you are the link between users, processes, and technology.

  • You are the first point of contact for users, handle questions and reports, and ensure that applications optimally meet the organization's needs.
  • You analyze incidents and issues, identify bottlenecks, and propose appropriate solutions.
  • You look beyond the immediate question and consider the impact on processes, users, and other systems.
  • You take initiative, actively contribute to improvements, and take ownership of your activities.
  • You advise users, colleagues, and management on changes, releases, and new developments.
  • You contribute to the further optimization of processes and information systems and participate in projects where you collaborate with various internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • You also ensure reliable and secure information provision, where topics such as authorization management, privacy, and information security play an important role.

Profile

You are curious about business processes and applications and quickly get to the core of an issue. You work closely with colleagues, users, and suppliers and know how to balance different interests well. You are also firm, dare to make clear choices, and provide well-founded advice, even if it means sometimes saying 'no'.

What they ask

  • At least two years of demonstrable work experience as a functional administrator or in a similar role within the ICT domain.
  • Knowledge of functional administration processes, testing, release management, and impact analyses.
  • Act carefully and with integrity, with a keen eye for privacy, authorizations, data quality, and information security.
  • Knowledge of chain processes and information systems.
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Knowledge of or affinity with authorization management, privacy, and information security.

Practical

The Geo & Data department consists of 53 employees and is led by a department head and two team leaders. You will work within the Functional Administration teams for Public Services, Public Space Management, and Permitting, Supervision, and Enforcement, which are managed by one of the team leaders. Together with 17 fellow functional administrators, you form a professional and committed team where collaboration, knowledge sharing, and development are central.
