ServiceNow Business Consultant

A public sector organization is undergoing an IT infrastructure transformation and automation program. The assignment will focus on ServiceNow Service Catalog, Request Fulfilment, Workflow Design, and CMDB, supporting the automation of data center infrastructure provisioning and configuration management processes.

What you will do.

• Gather technical requirements from infrastructure teams and translate these into functional ServiceNow solutions.
• Play a key role in automating infrastructure provisioning processes, ensuring infrastructure requests can be fulfilled automatically while maintaining accurate and auditable CMDB records.
• Work closely with infrastructure engineers and ServiceNow Developers to design workflows, catalog items, and request fulfilment processes.
• Design ServiceNow catalog items and configure their basic functionality using technical requirements and functional specifications.
• Coordinate development and testing activities, ensuring implemented solutions meet technical and business requirements.
• Gather and analyze technical requirements from IT infrastructure teams, including servers, operating systems, virtual machines, clusters, storage, networking, and databases.
• Translate infrastructure requirements into functional specifications and ServiceNow solutions.
• Design and configure ServiceNow Service Catalog items, workflows, and request fulfilment processes.
• Define the technical parameters required for automated infrastructure requests and provisioning.
• Design workflows supporting automated provisioning of cloud and data center infrastructure.
• Support the automation of CMDB updates following infrastructure provisioning and configuration changes.
• Collaborate with ServiceNow Developers to translate functional designs into technical implementations.
• Configure and develop the basic functionality of ServiceNow catalog items, with advanced scripting handled by the development team.
• Work closely with infrastructure teams to understand the dependencies between hardware, operating systems, virtual machines, clusters, and database infrastructure.
• Ensure ServiceNow solutions support accurate configuration management and auditable infrastructure processes.
• Document functional requirements, workflow designs, and application functionality.

What they ask

• Strong hands-on experience with ServiceNow Service Catalog, Request Management, and Request Fulfilment.
• Experience designing and configuring ServiceNow catalog items and workflows.
• Good understanding of ServiceNow CMDB and Configuration Management.
• Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure and data center environments.
• Experience working with servers, CPU, memory, storage, networking, operating systems, virtual machines, and infrastructure clusters.
• Understanding of database infrastructure, database clusters, and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience gathering technical requirements from infrastructure engineers and translating these into ServiceNow functional designs.
• Understanding of infrastructure automation and automated provisioning processes.
• Experience coordinating ServiceNow development and testing activities.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical infrastructure teams and ServiceNow Developers.
• Previous experience as an Infrastructure Engineer, Systems Engineer, Infrastructure Operator, or Infrastructure Architect would be advantageous.
