An independent chairman is the face and driving force of a network of over 220 partners.
- The client is a government organization, but the chairman works independently for the entire network.
- The chairman is primarily responsible for maintaining and further developing the network.
- Actively seeking partners who contribute to the energy transition in the region.
- The network is in a phase where continuity of relationships, trust, knowledge, and ongoing activities are of great importance.
- The chairman maintains and strengthens cohesion and involvement within the network and provides direction for its further development.
- The steering role takes place through content, consultations, dialogue, and natural authority ("steering without power").
- The chairman stands among the parties, who participate equally in the network, and safeguards the independent role.
What you will do.
- Guide and support the collaboration process to create optimal conditions for partners and participants to work together towards goals.
- Identify opportunities, bottlenecks, and dilemmas from the network and ensure the right points of attention are placed on the agenda, coordinated with the steering group.
- Be the primary point of contact for the network towards participating parties and represent it externally in national and supra-regional consultations.
- Provide direction to the secretariat and directors, monitoring and stimulating mutual cohesion, cooperation, and reinforcement among the focus areas.
- Advise, solicited and unsolicited, on the organization, content, and outcomes of the focus areas.
- Monitor the process in terms of quality, progress, agreements, financial, and administrative aspects.
- Ensure optimal embedding of the focus areas in the regions and maintain contacts with relevant regional administrators.
- Responsible for the management of financial resources and annually submit a budget proposal to the Advisory Board for approval.
- Prepare the agenda for the partner meeting together with the Advisory Board.
Profile

- Familiar with, monitors, and strengthens the continuity of the network.
- Maintains sustainable relationships with network partners, retains knowledge, involvement, and activities.
- Knows what is happening within the network and which parties are needed at what time to advance substantive issues.
- The role is independent and focused on supporting and strengthening the network; not independently responsible for achieving concrete, delimited results (best-effort obligation).
What they ask
- At least a relevant and completed, and as such recognized, university degree.
- At least 5 years of experience and experience in at least 3 assignments/projects in the role of process director/process facilitator of complex processes with multiple private and public stakeholders with diverse and sometimes conflicting interests, also in a political context..
- Demonstrable experience in leading complex organizations where various stakeholder interests play a role in private and public law contexts, including experience with budgets and financial accountability.
- At least 5 years of experience with and substantive knowledge of current developments in the field of energy transition and climate policy.
Preferences.
- Experience working in various network organizations and achieving results within such a collaborative framework.
- Experience within the energy transition or within transitions in comparable situations.
- Experience with political-administrative relations and how to act within them to achieve results and connect parties.
- Experience in initiating and stimulating constructive and effective collaborations with diverse characteristics (government-companies-citizens).
- Experience in governance and/or organizing and/or leading within societal challenges and context.
