Technical Specialist with a focus on major incident coordination
The Technical Specialist manages the resolution of major ICT disruptions (major incidents). If disruptions are not resolved in a timely or correct manner, this can lead to stagnation of the organization's primary process. The Technical Specialist sets concrete and clear goals/priorities for themselves and others to achieve a good and structural solution and/or limit the impact of the disruption.
The Technical Specialist directs involved resolution parties, ensures coordination, identifies the cause with them, and offers a solution. In addition, the Technical Specialist communicates about the progress of the major incident to users of the relevant service and the management of the Production department. The client is a government organization responsible for the criminal enforcement of the rule of law.
The organization collaborates with investigative services and determines whether someone must appear before the criminal court. The organization has an independent IT organization that improves the quality of IT services and the management of information provision. Due to legislative changes, the organization is preparing its working methods and ICT systems for modernization.
A strategy and multi-year plan have been drawn up for renewal towards 2027, aimed at improving the information position of employees, strengthening chain collaboration, further digitalization, and increasing digital resilience. A program has been set up to modernize the IT landscape and improve processes and working methods, in order to achieve the objectives and enable the organization to properly implement new legislation.
What you do
- Coordinate major incidents (disruptions in the production environment).
- Monitor the coordination process for major incidents.
- Take the lead in resolving major disruptions.
- Facilitate, instruct, and coach the crisis team with the aim of stabilizing ICT services.
- Communicate with all involved parties and be responsible for the certificate process (e.g., renewing certificates or domain names).
- Regularly participate in task forces to assist in the analysis of persistent and complex problems.
- Monitor the follow-up of improvement points from the RCA process.
- Document acquired knowledge and experience.
What they ask
- HBO diploma (higher professional education).
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrable and relevant work experience as an Incident Coordinator or a comparable role.
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrable and relevant experience in leading major ICT disruptions.
- Demonstrable knowledge of ITIL.
- Willingness to perform on-call duties.
Preferences.
- ITIL certificate.
- Experience within larger complex IT environments.
- Work experience as an Incident Coordinator or a comparable role.
- Experience with similar assignments at one or more government organizations.
