Manager Wills, Legacies and Estates

A non-profit animal welfare organization is looking for a specialized manager to ensure the management and follow-up of wills, legacies, and estate files. Legacies constitute particularly important support for the continuation of the organization's missions in favor of animals. The sought-after person will hold a position of trust, requiring solid legal knowledge, great rigor, and a particular sensitivity to the human situations related to this matter.

What you do

  • Ensure the management and follow-up of files related to wills, legacies, and estates.
  • Ensure the administrative and legal management of files, from their opening to their closing.
  • Manage contacts, appointments, and exchanges with notaries, administrations, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitor the different stages of successions, formalities, and deadlines.
  • Ensure the follow-up and management of assets bequeathed to the organization, whether real estate, movable property, or financial assets.
  • Ensure rigorous and confidential follow-up of each file and regularly inform management of its evolution.
  • Maintain legal and fiscal monitoring in matters related to wills, legacies, and estates.

Profile

  • Holder of a higher education diploma in the legal field, such as a Bachelor of Law or a Master of Law.
  • Training or specialization in patrimonial law, succession law, or notary studies is a significant asset.
  • Prior professional experience is not required; recent graduates with a solid background in these areas are welcome.
  • Very good knowledge of successions, wills, and legacies.
  • Ability to understand the legal, administrative, and fiscal aspects related to these files.
  • Ensure permanent legal and fiscal monitoring.
  • Knowledge of the functioning and legal specificities of a non-profit organization (ASBL), or ability to quickly acquire excellent mastery.
  • Excellent written communication skills and impeccable spelling.
  • Ability to draft professional correspondence and exchanges with precision, clarity, and rigor.
  • Demonstrate rigor, organization, autonomy, and a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Perfect command of French.
  • Notions of Dutch are an asset.
  • Share the ethical values of the organization.

Practical

  • Fixed-term contract (CDD), with potential evolution to an indefinite-term contract (CDI) upon satisfactory performance.
  • Category B driving license required.
