You will be there for patients who need care during the evening, night, and weekend. You ensure the continuity and quality of the care provided and monitor the care process outside office hours, together with an on-call doctor. During your shift, you are the central point of contact for the nursing and care teams. Your work area consists of the clinical departments on a healthcare facility. You work with colleagues and serve approximately 240 patients who stay short or long-term on the premises.
As an ANW coordinator, you maintain an overview and act as their backup. You work independently and switch quickly between various situations. In complex situations and emergencies, you collaborate closely with the on-call doctor.
What you do
- Perform triage and be the central point of contact during your shift.
- Independently solve (complex) problems by phone or on the department and consult with the on-call doctor when necessary.
- Manage crisis situations, address scheduling problems, and facilitate acute admissions.
- Assess nursing, psychiatric, and somatic problems and take appropriate action when necessary.
- Identify structural bottlenecks, discuss them, and anticipate them.
- Ensure the quality and continuity of nursing care outside office hours.
- Take responsibility for personnel and personnel-related matters during your shift.
