Sound Recorder for Professional Meetings
HainautOn site24 hours/week<3months
A specialized company in drafting minutes and summaries is looking for freelance sound recorders. The accuracy of the reports relies on impeccable sound capture. You will intervene directly on behalf of the organization with its clients to capture their professional exchanges in the best conditions.
What you will do.
- Arrive at the client's premises 30 minutes before the meeting to scout the room, assess acoustics, and set up your audio device.
- Using the kit provided (dictaphones + microphone for systematic double recording), ensure clean and usable capture.
- Position the two devices according to the room configuration and participants' arrangement.
- Take into account acoustics and noise sources (air conditioning, hallway, window, video projector…).
- Perform a recording test before the meeting, and regularly check that both recordings are running (battery, available memory).
- Note the seating plan: identity and function of each person present at the meeting.
- Perform "filage": the name of the person speaking and, only, the beginning of their sentence, the objective being for the transcriber to attribute each intervention to the correct person.
- After the meeting, upload your recordings and notes to the intranet by the next morning.
Profile
- You are already freelance.
- You have a background in sound recording or audio capture: BTS audiovisual sound option, sound engineer or technician training, reportage/documentary/podcast sound recorder, or event sound reinforcement (conference, seminar, corporate meeting sound technician). Relevant real-world capture experience is also welcome.
- You understand what makes a good recording in real conditions: impact of acoustics and placement on rendering, basic recorder settings, capturing multiple speakers around a table, reducing parasitic noise through positioning.
- You are methodical and reliable: preliminary test, in-meeting verification, battery and memory management, delivery of clean and usable files.
- Minimum availability of 3 days per week for onsite interventions.
- Excellent command of the English language.
- High typing speed and mastery of office tools.
- Possess a professional computer and a Word license.
Practical
- Support is provided for the first assignments.
- A capture kit (two dictaphones and microphone) is supplied.
- Access to an intranet for managing your calendar, assignments, resources, and invoicing.
- Remuneration based on hourly presence at meetings, supplemented by travel expenses, pricing for passive times (delays, breaks, suspensions), and real reimbursement of ancillary costs.
- Invoice payment within 30 days end of month.
