What you will do. As President of the board:
- You chair board meetings and ensure clear, open, and professional decision-making.
- You develop, together with the Vice-President and the other board members, the long-term strategy of the foundation.
- You safeguard the mission, independence, and societal positioning of the organization.
- You help prioritize projects, partnerships, and new initiatives.
- You represent the foundation, where appropriate, to governments, knowledge institutions, education, politics, and societal partners.
- You encourage collaboration and knowledge exchange within and outside the foundation.
- You ensure that the board not only discusses but also actively provides direction.
- You monitor, together with the board, the quality, integrity, and continuity of the foundation.
- You work closely with the Vice-President, the other board members, the CEO, and the Chief of Staff.
Profile
We are looking for someone who feels genuinely connected to the public cause and enjoys building something that can still grow. Affinity with public administration, democracy, knowledge sharing, social development, or public innovation is more important than a specific CV. You are someone who:
- Is administratively sensitive and understands how interests, roles, and decision-making relate to each other.
- Can think independently and keep party-political preferences separate from the substantive course of the foundation.
- Can connect people and help create a pleasant board culture.
- Can think strategically without losing sight of practical reality.
- Can clearly discuss complex topics and reduce them to choices.
- Gives space to other board members and seriously utilizes their expertise.
- Easily builds relationships with different types of organizations and people.
- Is curious about new ways of knowledge sharing, education, democratic engagement, and public information.
- Dares to take responsibility when choices are needed.
