Innovation Program Coordinator

A public educational institution is looking for an entrepreneurial coordinator to guide student teams and startups, and to further develop an innovation ecosystem. The program supports entrepreneurial student teams and startups working on technological solutions with societal impact, ranging from solar cars to neurotechnology and space exploration. The role is embedded within a faculty of the educational institution and works closely with internal partners who coach students on entrepreneurship.

What you will do. Guiding entrepreneurial student teams and startups:

  • First point of contact for student teams and startup projects.
  • Support operational issues related to finance, partnerships, legal aspects, communication, safety, and organization.
  • Coach engineering students on Tech Entrepreneurship and stimulate professionalization, knowledge sharing, and long-term thinking.
  • Contribute to strategic challenges and help identify and leverage opportunities.
  • Work closely with coordinators of postgraduate programs and internal partners.
  • Use your own network and that of the program to open doors and connect student teams and startup projects with the right partners.

Further developing the innovation ecosystem:

  • Co-determine the direction and shape the further development of the organization, its services, and its position within the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
  • Strengthen visibility and brand awareness.
  • Develop sustainable relationships with companies, partner organizations, governments, and entrepreneurial initiatives.
  • Detect opportunities for new collaborations, projects, and funding possibilities.
  • Coordinate annual networking events with the support of students and colleagues to strengthen the community.
  • Contribute to the further development of a sustainable and high-quality support offering.

Leading the operations of the non-profit organization (vzw/ASBL):

  • Daily coordination of the organization and acting as delegated administrator of the non-profit.
  • Prepare board and general meetings, ensure correct reporting, and follow up on decisions.
  • Monitor the legal, administrative, and financial obligations of the non-profit.
  • Work closely with the educational institution's services and external partners.
  • Translate strategic objectives into concrete actions and monitor progress.
  • Manage financial aspects together with the treasurer of the non-profit.

Profile

  • Master's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Affinity with entrepreneurship, innovation, startups, or technology.
  • Experience in guiding projects, teams, or organizations; knowledge of non-profit management is a plus.
  • Hands-on mentality combined with strategic insight.
  • Ability to bring together various stakeholders and build sustainable relationships.
  • Proactive, identifies opportunities, and translates ideas into actions.
  • Fluent communication in Dutch and English and ability to enthuse people for innovative ideas.
  • Capable of working independently without losing sight of the importance of collaboration.
  • Willingness to flexibly schedule working hours for meetings, networking events, and student team activities.
  • Willingness to be regularly present at other faculty campuses.

Practical aspects.

  • Full-time employment.
  • Start at grade 8 for immediately deployable candidates, grade 7 for promising candidates, grade 9 exceptionally for candidates with extensive knowledge and experience.
