Hardware Engineer

An organization with over 170 employees, specializing in the design, installation, maintenance, and inspection of electrotechnical installations and control systems for large and medium-sized Infra & Water projects, is looking for a Lead Hardware Engineer. You will work on smart, visible projects in wet infrastructure and industry, such as bridges, locks, pumping stations, and water treatment plants.

You will guide reliable electrotechnical solutions and be at the foundation of the technology and the success of your team. Together with engineers and project leaders, you will translate client requests into smart designs and functional installations, effortlessly switching between technology, planning, and team coaching.

What you do

  • Design and develop electrotechnical installations and automation systems
  • Utilize systems engineering for the design of electrotechnical, industrial automation installations and systems according to the verification and validation steps of the V-model engineering
  • Review third-party engineering and perform cross-checks
  • Lead and coach engineers and drafters within your projects
  • Monitor planning, budget, and progress of engineering activities
  • Coordinate with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
  • Make technical choices and determine implementation strategies
  • Identify risks and adjust in a timely manner when necessary
  • Apply standards and guidelines such as NEN1010
  • Work on diverse projects: from new construction to renovation
  • Report to the project leader on progress and deviations
  • Provide technical advice to the client

What they ask

  • HBO degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics
  • Minimum 5–10 years of experience as a Hardware Engineer
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in leading other engineers
  • Knowledge of electrotechnical installations and automation systems
  • Familiarity with relevant standards such as NEN1010, NEN 3140
  • Experience with preparing machine safety files is a plus or willingness to learn
  • Experience with PLC and SCADA systems
  • Strong analytical and decisive skills
  • Proficient in communication and customer-oriented
  • Proactive attitude and the ability to maintain an overview
