Elections Project Leader

A municipal organization with approximately 13,500 inhabitants, of whom about 11,200 are eligible to vote.

  • Between 7 and 10 polling station locations are used per election.
  • A polling station consists of a chairman, deputy chairman, polling station members, and tellers.
  • The staff is trained in the counting method used.
  • The result of the assignment is that the provincial council and water board elections have been conducted and declared valid in accordance with national laws and regulations.
  • The deployment is temporary and specifically focused on the aforementioned processes and is carried out entirely independently.

What you do

  • Prepare, coordinate, and execute national election processes and/or local referendums, so that residents can cast their votes in accordance with national laws and regulations.
  • Ensure that the process is careful, timely, transparent, and that the results are reliable.
  • Organize any recount of votes.
  • Draft and monitor a project plan for the elections/referendums.
  • Manage and support the internal, multidisciplinary election team.
  • Coordinate with the Electoral Council, suppliers, and (internal) teams.
  • Arrange training for polling station staff.
  • Monitor planning, budget, risks, and quality.
  • Ensure timely and correct execution of all legal obligations.
  • Evaluation and handover after the election process.

What they ask

  • Minimum 5 years of work experience as an election project leader at a municipal organization in the past 5 years.
  • Demonstrable work experience with laws and regulations related to elections, such as the Electoral Act and GDPR.
  • Demonstrable work experience with election software (implementation) such as specific election software.
  • Demonstrable completed trainings and/or courses related to elections and counting methods, preferably specific trainings and/or courses.
  • Completed education at a minimum of MBO4 level.
