Communication Advisor

A public organization aims to be an open and communicative organization, with an eye for its environment. To cover maternity and paternity leave, a communication advisor is sought for a period of nine months. You quickly familiarize yourself with communication projects and have experience with corporate issues. You will also participate in the social media team.
What you do
- Advise and guide board members, management, team leaders, and colleagues in their communicative role, both solicited and unsolicited.
- Actively contribute to the organization's environmental focus and help take external steps.
- Occasionally provide training or presentations and develop supporting tools.
- Translate external insights into the organization's challenges, considering the long-term vision and short- to medium-term goals.
- Be linked to projects and portfolios with an advisory and facilitating role.
- Establish connections between the organization and its collaboration partners at various levels.
- Map sensitivities, interests, and desired roles of actors in the communication process.
- Responsible for an appealing communication approach aimed at promoting voter turnout in elections.
- Translate national campaigns into regional campaigns and develop communication approaches for various target groups, both online and offline.
- Collaborate with other public bodies.
- First point of contact for a youth panel, guiding, facilitating, stimulating, motivating, and occasionally directing the panel.
- Coach young people in delivering assignments and presentations.
- Positively critical of ongoing issues and communicative deployment in projects.
- Ask the right relevant questions and make clear work agreements.
- Aware of administrative and political relationships.
- Shape your own work by identifying, analyzing, and discussing issues.
- Quickly switch when direct communicative attention is needed.
- One of the contact persons for the press, advising and guiding board members and colleagues who act as spokespersons, or acting as spokesperson yourself.
- Write and edit texts for internal and external media.
- Participate in the press duty roster.

What they ask
- Completed HBO / WO education in communication.
- Minimum 3 years of work experience as a communication advisor within the government.
- Work experience at a strategic level in a political-administrative environment.
- Experience advising board members and management.
- Experience with press relations and drafting communication lines.
- Experience with developing and implementing communication plans within projects and partnerships.
- Fluent writing and pleasant presentation skills.
Preferences.
- Experience with a similar public organization is a plus.
- Affinity with the work area of a water management organization.
- Experience with guiding a youth panel or similar is a plus.
