Orthopedagogue Generalist Basic Mental Healthcare

Contribute to the development and well-being of children and adolescents (6-18 years) with mild to moderate psychological problems.

  • Apply expertise to various support needs within basic mental healthcare for children and adolescents.
  • Conduct research into the development and environment of the child, adolescent, and family.
  • Translate findings into a suitable treatment or guidance plan.
  • Work at the intersection of basic and specialized mental healthcare, leading to more challenging and complex treatment trajectories.
  • Pay attention to the complaints, strengths, and possibilities of the child and their environment.
  • Work independently, contribute ideas about care, and contribute to the quality and development of the department from an orthopedagogical perspective.
  • Manage your own caseload and be involved in the entire process: intake, diagnostics, treatment, evaluation.
  • Collaborate closely with the child, adolescent, and parents.
  • Adapt the approach to the support need and situation (individually, with parents, in a group, or online).
  • Broaden professional knowledge, contribute to department development, stay updated on field developments, and contribute to colleagues' expertise.

What you will do.

  • Conduct intakes and identify the support need with the child, adolescent, and family.
  • Perform orthopedagogical and psychological diagnostics.
  • Translate findings into appropriate advice or a treatment plan.
  • Treat children and adolescents and provide guidance to parents where appropriate.
  • Manage your own caseload and monitor the progress and quality of the care provided.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary consultations and contribute to finding the most suitable care for the client.
  • Contribute, based on your expertise, to the content policy and further development of the department.
  • Guide colleagues and contribute to their professional development through work supervision.

Profile

  • Certified Orthopedagogue-Generalist with a valid registration.
  • Affinity with the development of children and adolescents and with working with their parents and system.
  • Experience with diagnostics and treatment within mental healthcare.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to translate complex information into a clear analysis, appropriate advice, and concrete treatment.
  • Curious, actively contributing ideas, interested in translating developments within your field into practice.
  • Enjoy collaborating, communicate clearly, and know when to act independently and when to involve colleagues.
  • Decisive, flexible, committed, with humor and a sense of perspective.
