Intergovernmental Supervisor Information and Archive Management

You will work in an independent supervisory role within an information provision team. Together with colleagues, you will form a professional group focused on the quality of information and archive management. You will collaborate with various public organizations, including municipalities and water boards. The diversity of these organizations makes the work interesting. You will have a lot of freedom in carrying out your supervision and will work independently, but can consult with colleagues and experts.

You will build a network within and outside the organization. The topics of supervision are dynamic due to digitalization and changes in digital information management. You will follow developments in information management, digital archiving, and relevant legislation, and translate these into your supervisory practice.

What you will do.

  • Ensure that organizations carefully manage their information and archives and comply with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Collect supervisory information, analyze documents and data, and conduct discussions with various public bodies.
  • Determine where organizations stand, what risks exist, and where improvement is needed, with an eye for the practice behind the figures.
  • Translate findings into an independent and well-substantiated supervisory judgment.
  • Document findings in reports and advice, clearly formulated for administrators and management.
  • Engage in administrative discussions and discuss judgments with the organizations involved when necessary.
  • Contribute to the further development of intergovernmental supervision, thinking about risk-oriented and proportional supervision.
  • Identify developments and share knowledge within regional and national consultation structures.
  • Contribute to a future-proof digital information management system.

Profile

You are independent and can quickly get to the core of an issue. You can quickly grasp large amounts of information, distinguish main and side issues, and form an independent judgment. You are meticulous in your analysis but also know when there is enough information to take a stand. You can clearly explain and substantiate your judgment, both in writing and in conversation.

You feel comfortable operating independently, are steadfast when necessary, but also understand that good supervision revolves around having the right conversation. You can deliver a critical message without losing sight of the relationship and possess administrative sensitivity. You are curious about how governments work and are interested in developments concerning information management and digital information households.

You find it interesting to compare different organizations, follow new developments, and continue to deepen your knowledge.

What they ask

  • HBO or university level of work and thinking.
  • Knowledge of information and archive management and relevant laws and regulations, such as the Archives Act.
  • Relevant work experience in information management, archive management, supervision, quality assessment, compliance, research, or administrative advisory.
  • Experience with analyzing information and drafting reports and advice.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Preferences.

  • Knowledge of the Woo (Public Access to Government Information Act).
  • Experience within a government organization, archive service, water board, joint arrangement, or other public organization.
