Spiritual caregiver

A healthcare organization provides intensive, specialized care to people who, due to illness, old age, or a combination of both, can no longer live independently or require temporary support. The organization helps clients continue their lives as they wish, based on the philosophy 'the whole life counts'. Loving, personal, and high-quality care is offered to vulnerable people with complex care needs.

What you will do.

• Guide elderly individuals with existential and life questions and spirituality in vulnerable situations.
• Provide support regarding meaning and purpose to residents and/or their relatives.
• Tailor guidance to the beliefs or life convictions of conversation partners.
• Collaborate with employees and volunteers to ensure the most meaningful time possible for residents within a nursing home facility.
• Respond to the diverse backgrounds of all residents.
• Seek connection through conversations and appropriate rituals, both individually and in groups.
• Participate in a self-managing spiritual care professional group.

What they ask

• Completed or nearly completed academic or HBO (higher professional education) degree in Theology or Spiritual Care / Philosophy of Life.
• Affinity with spiritual care within nursing home or residential care settings.
• Ability to work independently, under the guidance and direction of a colleague on location.
• Empathy and willingness to interact with all residents based on their life convictions.
