As a junior lawyer, you will work in a dynamic field within a Legal Affairs team of a regional public organization. You will make an important contribution to the implementation of public tasks in the field of supervision and enforcement. The organization contributes to a safe, sustainable, and healthy living environment by carrying out tasks related to environmental and building and housing supervision for affiliated municipalities and/or provinces.
You will work within established policy frameworks, work processes, and mandates, and regularly coordinate with colleagues, team leadership, management, and the board on legal dossiers with administrative and social impact. The team manager and/or legal coordinator will guide the activities, set priorities, and monitor the quality, progress, and results. Periodic coordination will take place on complex dossiers, legal risks, the application of policy, and the legal strategy to be followed.

- Proactive support to medior and/or senior colleagues in handling enforcement cases
- (Legal) research work
- Drafting (legal) documents
- Administrative tasks
- Independently handling various enforcement dossiers in the areas of building regulations, fire safety, asbestos, monument preservation, and spatial planning
- Attending and, if possible, participating in hearings (objection, appeal, higher appeal, and preliminary relief)
- Ensuring good communication with the client(s)

- Demonstrably completed basic WOO (Wet open overheid - Open Government Act) course
- Minimum of 6 months demonstrable work experience in the past 2 years as a junior legal advisor within a municipality
- Demonstrably completed enforcement / administrative law course
Desired.
- Demonstrably completed education at a minimum of HBO bachelor level in a legal field
- Minimum of 6 months demonstrable work experience in the past year as a junior legal advisor within a municipality
- Demonstrable work experience with drafting advice and objections
- Demonstrable work experience with the Omgevingswet (Environmental Act)
- Demonstrable knowledge of the APV (Algemene Plaatselijke Verordening - General Local Ordinance) and Omgevingswet
