Information Manager Governance and Management Information
As an Information Manager, you will be the driving force in a focus area of an IT department within a government organization, working at the intersection of business and IT on advanced solutions. You contribute to a safe society. You will work at a command that supports colleagues domestically and internationally with equipment, supplies, and ICT. Together with policymakers, operational commands, and IT specialists, you will identify IT needs and translate them into actionable assignments.
You will communicate the roadmap of your focus area to users, executives, and IT specialists. Topics such as Application Portfolio Management, Application Lifecycle Management, Application Hosting, Enterprise Content Management, and Application Rationalization will be addressed. These topics are relevant in both the static office environment and the operational and expeditionary environment of the organization.
What you will do. As an Information Manager for Governance and Management Information, you will work on strengthening steering capabilities within the organization through the use of dashboards. You will help organizational units translate their strategic, tactical, and operational questions into usable dashboards, thereby assisting the organization in moving towards modern and data-driven business operations. Your primary activities:
- Inventorying and analyzing steering questions within domains such as Mission Readiness, Personnel Readiness, Material Readiness, Finance, Procurement, Security, or Logistics.
- Guiding sessions with process owners, controllers, and line management to sharpen KPIs and management information.
- Drafting functional designs for dashboards.
Profile
You are a colleague who can collaborate well and is familiar with the Agile mindset. You are an IT Information Manager with persuasive power and strong analytical skills, capable of translating complex issues into concrete IT solutions.
What they ask
- A minimum of an HBO (higher professional education) diploma or HBO work and thinking level, demonstrable via assessment, preferably relevant to the field of work/knowledge area.
- Demonstrable work experience in the field of information provision.
- Proficiency in Dutch and English, both verbally and in writing.
- A demonstrable track record as a connector at a tactical/strategic level between business and IT, capable of simplifying complex matters, bringing structure, and initiating changes.
- Able to lead and guide meetings with involved policymakers, users, and IT specialists.
- Experience in formulating client ownership for IT projects and Working Under Architecture, and disseminating policy advice.
- Solid experience in drafting Project Start Documents / Project Letters / Project Proposals.
Preferences.
- Knowledge and experience in one of the following fields: Business IT & Management, Business IT & Architecture, Technical or Business Informatics, Business Administration, or Public Administration.
- Your previous work activities preferably have demonstrable overlaps with the activities of a Business Architect and/or a Business Analyst and/or a Business Information Manager.
