Contract Engineer

As a Contract Engineer, you will play a key role in the management and monitoring of strategic contracts for signaling projects, within an innovative and stimulating technical environment. You will contribute to large-scale projects, while benefiting from a motivating work environment offering development opportunities. The 'Contracts' team of the 'Projects' department is the daily operational contact point between internal clients and suppliers.

You will make daily decisions consistent with the strategic objectives of the organization. Your mission will be to ensure the follow-up of strategic contracts for signaling projects, focusing primarily on ongoing contracts, while participating in the launch of new contracts.

What you do

For ongoing contracts.

  • You negotiate and monitor contract changes (Change Requests), while ensuring their execution.
  • You ensure the follow-up of contracts necessary for an internal program, thus contributing to its implementation. A European Train Control System (ETCS) is a large-scale European project aimed at strengthening railway safety through an automatic safety system that significantly reduces the probability of a train passing a red signal, among other things.
  • You work actively with technical collaborators and are responsible for the technical and budgetary aspects of the contract.
  • In collaboration with administrative collaborators, you draft orders for materials, services, and works, as well as monitoring deliveries within the framework of the contracts.
  • You regularly consult the heads of the logistics and/or Procurement department to ensure the smooth running of the ordering and delivery process.
  • You work in close collaboration with Contract Managers from the Procurement department to identify and implement improvements in contractual processes.
  • You ensure reporting via internal reporting tools.

For new contracts.

  • You coordinate and analyze the technical and administrative part of new strategic contracts.
  • You define the scope of new contracts based on the projects to be carried out.
  • Once new contracts have been notified, you treat them in the same way as ongoing contracts.

Your profile. Technical Skills.

  • You hold a degree in Industrial or Civil Engineering, or you are a legal professional with a strong affinity for technology.
  • You are perfectly fluent in French or Dutch (both oral and written) and have a functional knowledge of the second language. A basic knowledge of technical English is also required for this position.
  • An interest in contractual aspects and technology is essential.
  • Ideally, you have experience in managing complex contracts or in negotiation in technical or industrial environments.
  • The following assets will be appreciated: knowledge of public procurement, experience in sales and/or drafting offers, and knowledge of suppliers.

Within the 'Contracts' department, the 'Contracts' office is primarily responsible for the operational follow-up of strategic contracts for signaling projects. This is to ensure the operational management and follow-up of essential contracts for the execution of signaling projects in close collaboration with the relevant departments.
