An organization that provides wireless telecommunications for network operators via its own telecom network is developing and building a new telecom network based on LTE-M technology. This network must meet high requirements in terms of safety, reliability, and availability, so that services to parties with vital infrastructures can be provided reliably and securely and remain available even in emergency situations.
Support is sought for the design and realization of an optimal network of fiber optic connections (dark fibers). The project involves inventorying available dark fibers from various providers and developing a cost-optimal and technically robust network design. This is a complex optimization problem involving multiple parameters:
- Distance and routing (shortest connections require fewer repeaters, but longer connections may be cheaper in rent)
- Costs
- Availability and reliability of connections
- Scalability and future expansion possibilities
What you will do.
- Inventory available routes from both shareholders and market parties
- Develop an optimal network design given the (intended) locations of the antenna installation points
- Together with the contract manager, define the chosen routes
Profile
- Experience with network design
- Knowledge of fiber optic networks or comparable underground infrastructures (electricity, gas, etc.)
- Experience with optimization techniques and analysis of large datasets
- Knowledge of relevant programming languages
- Knowledge of GIS and map analysis
