Guest Lecturer Wild World

As a guest lecturer, you contribute to increasing respect, self-reliance, and willingness to help among children and young people. You do this by covering educational material on topics such as earthquakes, floods, and extreme heat, so that they can help themselves and others in emergency situations.
What you do
- Gives guest lessons approximately 10 times a year to primary school children (grades 4 to 8) and sometimes at other locations.
- Together with a fellow volunteer, gives guest lessons of 60 to 75 minutes, varying from 2 or 3 lessons per session.
- Ensures that children gain more insight and information about natural disasters and climate change.
- Teaches children how to prepare for these events and what a humanitarian organization does to help people in affected areas.
- Uses engaging, interactive teaching material and applies it in such a way that children are captivated and actively participate in the lesson.
What they ask
- Experience working for/with primary school-aged children and/or experience presenting to a group.
- Good communication and social skills.
- Digitally proficient; online teaching material is used in the lessons.
- Time available to give guest lessons at least 10 times a year during school hours (on average 1 to 2 half-days per month).
- Willingness to travel to schools in the region.
