IT Manager

As an IT manager, you will lead professionals responsible for the organization's network and data communication infrastructure. The role combines people management, IT infrastructure, capacity planning, and complex projects.
What you will do. As an IT Manager, you will lead three teams within the Connectivity section. These teams are responsible for important components of the organization's network and data communication services. You are integrally responsible for the quality, continuity, and development of services within your domain.
You combine leadership with substantive and organizational responsibility, ensuring that employees know what is expected of them, that the right capacity is available, and that activities and projects are carried out according to planning and quality requirements.
- Directing, coaching, and developing employees and building professionally functioning teams
- Planning and deploying personnel capacity, resources
- Drawing up and adjusting capacity and training plans
- Monitoring the progress and quality of projects and programs
- Coordinating multidisciplinary projects and preparing decision-making
- Identifying developments, innovations, and improvement opportunities within network and data communication services
- Translating developments into new or improved products and services
- Advising clients and management on capacity, projects, risks, and technical developments
You will work closely with project managers, other IT managers, clients, and internal and external partners. You easily switch between strategic, tactical, and operational issues and know how to connect different interests.
What they ask You are an experienced leader who can effectively switch between people, technology, and organization. You know how to coach and develop professionals, but you are also able to engage in substantive discussions about network and IT infrastructure issues. You maintain an overview when various projects, interests, and capacity questions arise simultaneously and know how to set priorities based on that.
- University (WO) working and thinking level, preferably demonstrable with a completed HBO bachelor's degree or a comparable combination of education and experience
- Experience in leading professionals
- Experience in developing and improving IT or network services
- Knowledge of data networks and techniques such as fiber optics, DWDM, IP/Ethernet
- Knowledge of routing, switching, and network management
- Experience with service management of data communication connections
- Experience with project-based work and preferably knowledge of Prince2, ITIL, BiSL, ASL, and/or Agile/Scrum
- Experience in researching and selecting network tooling
- Good command of the Dutch and English languages
You are also a strong communicator, organizationally sensitive, and results-oriented. You know how to motivate and develop employees and dare to provide direction when the situation demands it. You take initiative, are good at planning and organizing, and adapt easily when priorities change.
