Project Manager intelligent traffic lights
Within a multimodal traffic management program, various road authorities collaborate on the accessibility and liveability of a region, as well as on innovative measures. Road authorities work together to improve traffic flow for various modalities at intersection and route levels, partly with the help of traffic lights. A smart intersections project has been developed for this purpose.
Currently, various projects and applications involving target groups with existing intelligent traffic lights (iVRI) are being implemented. The task is to complete ongoing projects and execute new projects within the smart intersections action plan. The goal is to improve the flow and liveability of the region.
As a project manager, you ensure a functioning chain, safeguard management and maintenance, and guide the process with other road authorities and suppliers to convert traditional traffic light installations (VRI) into Intelligent VRI (iVRI). iVRIs can communicate with apps and vehicles. Another important task is the project-based realization of various pilots and applications related to freight traffic, public transport, road inspectors, and bicycles, in a public-private partnership.
This includes stimulating use by target groups. As a project leader, you are the first point of contact to shape collaboration with private parties together with the project team and to realize the added value of the iVRI. For the execution of the assignment, it is expected that the contractor uses their own (ICT) resources. If additional business resources are needed during the assignment, the contractor will bear the costs themselves.
