Special Enforcement Officer

A municipal organization is looking for an enthusiastic colleague for the position of Special Enforcement Officer (BOA). As a BOA, you are responsible for safeguarding and promoting livability, by collaborating and seeking targeted solutions for citizens.

What you will do.

  • Be visibly present and follow up on reports
  • Identify irregularities and promote livability
  • Supervision and enforcement regarding subversion, BRP checks, youth, dog nuisance, and parking nuisance
  • Ensure compliance with the regulations of granted permits and exemptions
  • Ensure that laws and regulations are complied with (e.g., APV, Alcohol Act, Waste Ordinance)

  • You are willing to work evenings and weekends
  • Reliability and integrity are paramount; you adhere to agreements, rules
  • You are solution-oriented, stress-resistant, and possess excellent observational skills
  • You are able to address citizens correctly and act in a de-escalating manner
  • You have the courage to take action and issue fines if necessary, but you also know when it is better to take a step back

What they ask

  • MBO (intermediate vocational education) working and thinking level
  • Completed HTV or Special Enforcement Officer training
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar position (BOA domain 1)
  • Valid Special Enforcement Officer certificate
  • Valid driving license B
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends
  • Providing a VOG-P (Certificate of Conduct - Police data) statement is mandatory

Preferences.

  • Experience in a medium-sized municipal organization, where both enforcement and hospitality are highly valued
  • A mature candidate who brings experience and is willing to share it pleasantly with colleagues
