On the shop floor of a production environment, machines run on what you program, and colleagues grow through what you teach them. As a CNC Programmer and Setter, you are the knowledge holder of machining. You write the program in Edgecam and set up the machine when it gets difficult. You stand next to the machine operator who is setting up a complex part for the first time. The team is growing with new operators and machine operators, and your contribution to their development is crucial.
What you do
You work in machining. You are the link between drawing, program, and production. New and complex products first come to you. You determine the machining strategy, write the program, and ensure the first run goes well. Afterwards, you transfer it to the machine operators and operators, and teach them what they need to do it themselves. The machine park consists of milling machines such as the Doosan DVF 5000 and DNM 750 and a Keppler machining center, and Doosan Puma lathes.
The control system is Fanuc or Heidenhain.
Responsibilities.
- Programming milling and turning operations in Edgecam, offline and at the machine
- Determining machining strategy, clamping, and tool selection for new and complex products
- Setting up and configuring the machine until the first part falls within tolerance
- Training and coaching operators and machine operators on the shop floor
- Improving programs and working methods so that series run faster and more stably
Profile
You are both a craftsman and a mentor. Seeing a colleague understand something gives you as much satisfaction as a difficult part that is correct on the first try. You explain without taking over, and you are the one others turn to when things don't go smoothly.
- You have an MBO 4 degree in mechanical engineering or higher
- You program in a CAD/CAM package and have experience with both milling and turning. Experience with Edgecam is a plus, another package is also fine
- You explain easily and enjoy training new colleagues
