Youth Worker

An organization provides shelter for young people aged 13 to 18 who have often experienced significant challenges. These young people require structure and routine. As a youth worker, you play a crucial role in their guidance.

What you will do.

• Guide young people 24/7, with the goal of independent living from the age of 18.
• Conduct regular mentoring conversations with the young people.
• Maintain contact with external organizations and care providers, such as guardians, schools, and general practitioners.
• Ensure a safe and livable residential environment.
• Serve as a visible point of contact for the young people.
• Work closely within a team and participate in meetings and intervision discussions.

What they ask

• Education: Relevant higher professional education (HBO) or university (WO) degree (e.g., Social Work, MWD, SPH, CMV, Teacher Training, Pedagogy, Psychology, or other Social Sciences).
• SKJ registration: You are SKJ registered or have the possibility to obtain this within two years.
• Work experience: Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience with youth in youth care, mental health care, care institutions, and/or welfare work.
• Personality: Resilient, empathetic without losing professional distance, and clear in setting boundaries.
• Flexibility: Availability for day, evening, night, and weekend shifts (night shifts are waking shifts).
